October 5, 2026Winter has arrived at The Royal Oak Old Town, and we’ve just launched our new seasonal menus, bringing together warming dishes, Sunday roasts, set-menu dining and winter cocktails.
Whether you’re joining us for a relaxed midweek dinner, a Sunday roast, one of our jazz nights or drinks with friends, there’s plenty to look forward to this winter.
The Choptank Set Menu
Our new Choptank Set Menu offers two courses for £18 or three courses for £22, making it a great way to enjoy some of our seasonal dishes at an excellent price.
Available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm to 9pm, as well as Saturday lunchtime from 12pm to 3pm, the set menu is also available on our jazz nights.
Choose from starters including roasted beetroot with feta, pickled mushrooms and horseradish, chicken liver pâté, soup of the day or breaded whitebait.
Main courses include roasted squash with spinach and shiitake mushroom sauce, pan-fried hake with chorizo and samphire, peppered venison haunch and dry-aged bavette steak with truffle butter.
To finish, choose from warm pineapple and rum cake, ginger and lime crème brûlée or caramel chocolate torte. There’s also a selection of three cheeses available for a small supplement.

The Choptank A La Carte
If you’re looking for something a little more leisurely, our new Choptank A La Carte menu features a selection of seasonal dishes, from fresh oysters and charcuterie to hearty winter mains and indulgent desserts.
Highlights include wood pigeon and haggis Kiev, charred mackerel, pan-fried hake, peppered venison haunch, dry-aged bavette steak and confit duck leg cassoulet.
There are also plenty of sides to choose from, including truffle and Parmesan skin-on fries, seasonal greens and rocket and Parmesan salad.

Sunday Lunch
Sundays are made for a proper roast, and our Sunday Lunch Menu brings together classic favourites with seasonal ingredients.
Choose from rare roast beef, smoked low and slow pulled pork, roast chicken or truffle and thyme roasted squash, all served with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and unlimited house gravy.
Our Sunday lunch is available for two courses for £24.50, with children’s options also available.

Winter Spritzes Before 6
It wouldn’t be winter at The Royal Oak without a few seasonal drinks to go alongside the food.
Our new Spritz Before 6 offer gives you two cocktails for £12 every day until 6pm, with winter-inspired options including Spiced Sangria, Orange & Ginger Mule, Winter Gin & Ginger and Pear & Elderflower Spritz.
There’s also a selection of non-alcoholic spritzes, with two for £8, including Spiced Apple Spritz, Blood Orange Mule 0.0% and Winter Garden Spritz.
So whether you’re meeting friends for an early evening drink, enjoying dinner or making a night of it, there’s something new to try.

July 1, 2026Summer is here, and we’ve refreshed our draught line-up at The Royal Oak with a great selection of beers, lagers, cider and low-alcohol options ready for those warmer days.
We’re especially excited to introduce our new handpull, featuring Farmer’s Best from Ramsbury Brewery. Based in Marlborough, just down the road from us, Ramsbury is a fantastic local brewery and we’re proud to support a nearby producer by bringing their beer to the bar.
Our summer draught line-up includes:
Ramsbury Brewery – Farmer’s Best – Our new handpull offering is an award-winning dark amber ale, brewed locally with barley grown on the Ramsbury Estate, delivering smooth caramel notes, toasted malt flavours and a classic balanced bitter finish.
